Now everyone can get so worked up and butthurt and offended over anything that mob rules.


I also really dislike how this "mob rule" term has been applied to any community that's angry and vocal, or that's vocal and gets what they want-- except for (usually) communities that the person using the term is a part of.

What's the majority in a gaming community anyway, those who express themselves on the internet the loudest?

This debate has gone on for a long time. One thing I always respected about Bungie was they trusted their own judgments (made games they wanted to play) while taking community feedback under advisement. As a much bigger fan of republics than straight-up democracies, I can get behind that.

Just because of majority of people believe something (and in this context what constitutes a majority is tenuous) doesn't make it right or good. There's a reason "mob rule" is disparaging.
