Wow, that was a great run. (DBO)

I've still never had a stage that clean. It almost makes me glad we're on opposite systems--I can't see how thoroughly you'd destroy my awful times.

Heh, thanks. TBH some of the late model AWD cars make it a bit easier (driving the 2000's and 2010's sets are like being in a cartoon). Their suspension soaks up bumps a lot better, and they're easier to throw around hairpins. That particular car is sort of good and sort of not - it has those two advantages, but it's an R4 class which is extremely heavy. Sometimes it doesn't want to stop or turn as soon as I'd planned. That's why I recorded that run, it's rare that I get through cleanly in an R4.

I played for a few hours last night. Started a new Clubman championship with the Group B Quattro. I absolutely love this car. It's crazy fast, but it's actually really well balanced and surprisingly easy to drive. I'm also looking forward to getting the Group A Subaru, and into the R4 cars, but it'll be a while before I can afford any of those. Luckily this game does seem to pay out at a pretty good rate.

I need to play this more.

Hell yes.

I love this game, but I've also recently fallen in love with the new Hitman and have been playing that quite a bit. I'm also still obsessed with The Witcher 3 and keep going back to it for a few hours every couple of days. I'll be making sure to play more Dirt Rally, though. I'd forgotten how good it is.

I'm still in the Clubman series driving a Mk. II Escort. I've been obsessed with the Quattro on Pikes Peak, though, and I've barely touched Rally Cross at all.

You might beat me there, then. I haven't spent much time on Pike's Peak and I still don't know the course. It's hard with no co-driver calls. I'm starting to recognize some of the corners, but only when I get right up to them, and I still don't know what order they're in.

Pikes Peak is great. Not having the call outs is rough at first, but the run isn't actually all that long, so it doesn't take much to learn the corners. The dirt version is way more fun that fully paved variant though. I wish there were more hill climb tracks, though, rather than just Pikes Peak at various stages of being paved.

Rally Cross makes me angry. It's well implemented and the driving is fun, but trying to actually progress sucks. The cars all tend to knock each other around at the beginning, and sometimes you can find yourself too far behind to catch up and finish in a good position.

I just can't get into it (or get good at it, I guess). I hate the FWD cars--they're just no fun to drive. Maybe if I save up a bunch of money and buy one of the AWD cars I'll enjoy it more, but I'm putting that one the back burner for now and am just going to focus on rally.

I ended up tweaking my steering settings a little more. The stuff I was using worked OK for everything except the Lancia Stratos and 037 - those two were twitchy as hell. Think I have it dialed in now.

I still need to tweak mine some more. I've been using that set up you posted the week the game released, and it feels pretty good. I haven't tried the Stratos yet, but the 037 is basically impossible to drive. I'll have to fiddle with the steering settings some more at some point.
