If you have truth, some glimmer and a single extra exotic shard:
buy a new truth from the kiosk.
use a heavy telemetry.
equip the new truth
use 6 motes of light to fully level it
disassemble the new truth and gain 2 exotic shards.repeat as desired.
IIRC it's 2500 glimmer and 1 exotic shard to do this. If you need that first shard, run strikes with 3 of coins equipped until you get a drop for one.
I do this periodically and it makes me mad -- I've probably spent 10 exotic shards obtained this way since RoI on light upgrades for exotic on exotic infusion. I think they need to change the economy a little on this one.
It's pretty dumb, but it works.
I think I've spent 100k+ in glimmer since RoI dropped on getting exotic shards.
