The Battle Royale one—that is outright inexcusable! Fortnite, PUBG, whatever—or more accurately the genre of said game—is the BIGGEST thing ever right now. Gamers and civilians alike are basically saying "World of who? Call of what?" On at least three separate occasions, just in passing, I've managed to catch reports of Battle Royale games on the news—real life cable TV CNN news—in both good and bad exposure. Fads that take over the lives of millions—to the point where it's literally becoming addictive—is like blood on a white couch. If they asked something specific about Fortnite like game mechanics or tips and tricks, that's one thing--but for no one to even know the type of the games that have taken the internet by storm and has actually gained a recurring presence on the news?

Now yes, it is pressuring to yank something like that from one's thoughts in five seconds, but the Battle Royale thing is Eagles Dethroning big. Or Beanie Baby big.

I'd say the Battle Royale part was maybe the easiest to miss. Even though I'm not a huge Fortnite fan, I play with my kids from time to time and I keep up with gaming news, so I know the difference between "Save the World" and "Battle Royale" in Fortnite, and I know that everyone and their dog is trying to get in on the Battle Royale craze. My wife, however, despite having two sons who play Fortnite: Battle Royale nearly every moment they're allowed game time and a husband who may or may not have woken her up yelling about stupid PUBG glitches on multiple occasions, only hears about "Fortnite" and "PUBG" and would have no idea they're part of a new "battle royale" genre of video games.
