Whether gripping us with paralyzing seriousness, or doubling us over in laughter, the man's skill truly was endless. And so rarely do we get a video game actor who's behind the game they're in, seeing it as more than a check or an extra line on Imdb. And how my heart soared to find out that not only was he an eager Destiny player through and through, but that the leader of the Titan Vanguard was a proud Warlock main.

I still don't play D2, of course; but in D1 whenever I pick up my bounties, I always kneel to Zavala—the strength behind the Vanguard, and the heartbeat behind the fans.
