The best thing about social justice concerns is that it does in fact stir up controversy.
That is basically a reworded "There's no such thing as bad publicity."
Controversy gets people talking and makes them aware of issues that they might not have been privy to before or have previously misunderstood.
The problem is that nobody starts each debate anew. If you pursue frivolous and outright ridiculous fights under the banner of "Social Justice", then people are going to remember that. It'll take MORE work to bring them around the second time.
