DBO Crota Raid - Finish Sunday / Friday

Let's finish this Sunday morning guys. Will that work?

At least some of us should be able to hit 31 by then. I did Crota checkpoint (but didn't finish) with some other people just now, and it's definitely possible. We got him down to about ⅓ health, and they aren't as good as you guys.

The strategy was:

Everybody hang out on left side like we were doing. Gunslingers with keyhole / combustion should kill thrall to generate orbs, and a titan should drop weapons of light. Snipe the Knights on both sides. I used the ballistics with increased stability on the Mythoclast to help. With weapons of light the Mythoclast is pretty effective at cleaning up the remaining thrall and knights.

After killing the knights, burn the Sword bearer hard. The bottom should be clear at this point, and the sword carrier (who is level 31) should jump up to Crota at about 25% shield, and use the R2 smash and the super last if you have it. After about two rounds of good hits (one was a 2X), he was down to about 50%.

Rotate if Crota comes over to the left side, and take out ogres as fast as possible. The key seems to be making orbs for a titan to drop weapons, so it's up to everyone else to do this to the thrall below. Maybe wear Crest of Alpha Lupi?

Didn't kill him, but if a bunch of us hit 31 before Sunday, it will look good I think. Friday night might work if enough are 31.

I'm guaranteed 31 by tonight, so we could do a run or two, since I have the sword down pat.

We also need to find that Gatekeeper to figure out what his deal is...

I can probably get on tonight (9:30/10pm EST-ish again) at least for some exploratory runs. Pretty much any night around that time is fine with me really. I can't do Sunday morning, but could definitely do Sunday evening/night, and could probably do Sunday afternoon if everyone is available and interested.

FWIW I'm watching Datto doing it right now with Gothalion, ProfessorBroman, Teawrex, etc. and it's pretty helpful to see/hear what they're doing and their strategy refinements.

Sunday night is not good for me. Ugg. It looks like the only time I will have is friday night, or monday. Possibly early saturday. Tonight I can do it around 5:30pm PST, but have somewhere to be at 9:30.

How did you guys take out the Deathsinger within 3 minutes? I tried with a bunch of 30's (in fact, I was the only 29), but there were billions of knights and they were all killing all of us in one shot or less. We tried one side at a time, we tried both at once, we tried staggering, but nothing worked. We either all died, or by the time we got the Shriekers down, it was too late. In addition to that, there wasn't a single inch of her exposed through the literal carpet of one-hit kill Knights. So what was your One-Take Willie strategy?

The Deathsinger was a pain in the butt; we probably spent close to an hour trying to take Her out. I think we kind of have to chalk it up to luck at least a little bit. Our strategy was this: split up into two groups of three; two from each group jumped up into the towers in the back while the third ran in to aggro the wizard and draw it out. Once wizard was dead (along with the Knights that hang out at the top of the stairs), we would run in and fire rockets at the shrieker. Once both shriekers were down I think we all went to the left side (if looking toward the glass room from the back) and just unleashed on the Deathseeker as much as possible. I found tat it was very hard to get line of sight on her, so I just bunny hopped into the room the best I could trying to avoid Knights as I was unloading my Gjallarhorn. Lots of people on the team were dying, but we finally had a (lucky?) run with enough of us surviving to finish her off.

A lot of the deaths had to do with random rockets blowing up the second they left the tube. It either has to do with all the chains hanging down in that area, or the fact that tons of enemies crowd the rocket's hitbox (even if the enemy is beside you)...

I'd argue that 60% of my deaths in that part were from my own rockets. So yeah, luck plays a factor...
