Best advice I can give to a newcomer: don't waste hours waiting in line to play 5 minutes of some AAA game you already know you're going to buy a month later. Your time is better spent finding some neat indie game you never would have discovered otherwise.

Completely agree. If you absolutely have to play a AAA game on the floor, make sure you wait in line on the first day for it. The later in the weekend it gets the crazier the lines will get. (But seriously just play awesome indie games)
