I never forget the way I felt when I first played that last level, when I realized that there would be no more respawns and this life was all I had. It was genius--it underscored the gritty realism of the game--something less prevalent in previous Halos--and was a fitting way for Bungie to say goodbye to the series.

It's the sort of story-telling the medium of vidya can deliver where other mediums can't.
