You're forgetting that Special placement changes maps, too. (Destiny)

I think one factor not being mentioned that has also changed maps is where the special ammo is. For example, Burning Shrine has become a much more difficult map to get special on. I'll think about it some more and make a more thoughtful response to maps tomorrow. Good call on the post!
