Is anyone else experiencing "New Gear Bottleneck"? (Destiny)

Yeah. i've been MIA for most of TTK and I still feel like my light level is only 1-6 points lower than all of you. That's pretty absurd.

Though, I will say you guys seem to have more variety in how to stay at that level as soon as I change even one piece i'm down to the 290s and even less if I change 2. It's really forcing me to play with the same gear that I really don't like that much.

Anyway, it sure seems like there is a soft cap around 305. Personally, I think they should make it so you can infuse lower level items to raise the level of something to a hard coded max light level. It should take WAY more than using a higher level thing, but I think it would help immensely if I could scrap 20 trash 280+ level decodes to raise a 290ish thing 2-3 points.

Or hell, just to serve the cruel streak in Bungie, make it require 10 legendary engrams (of any gear type - I'm not insane) to raise 1 light level. You can't use this unless you play a LOT, so it's still slowing people down a bit, and you give up a lot of chances for new gear that might be higher level, but you get in trade a certainty and guaranteed reward for effort.
