Does a "RSVP" take precedence over a "Tentative RSVP" regardless of signup date or does signup date take precedence over RSVP status.

We don't really have a set etiquette, mostly because when it's been brought up not everyone agrees on one or the other. So it's pretty much up to the creator of the FTB event.

That makes sense, I can see the argument going both ways.

As organizer, most of the time I tend to go with whoever shows up in the order they appear on the list. It's too hard to track who was tentative when, considering people can change that value at any time.

As a player I don't begrudge being left out when a team has been solid for a while and I clear my tentative check box the day of the event.

When I'm organizing, I put signup date over Tentative/confirmed. If the first person to sign up is still marked as tentative, but they're online when the event is scheduled to start, they get the first invite.

When I'm participating, I'll usually mark myself tentative if it looks like I'll be able to make it to the event, but it's close enough to something else that I'm doing that there's a chance the other thing might make me late to the event and I don't want to hold up the team. As soon as I'm sure I'm going to make it to the event on time, though, I'll removed the tentative mark from my sign-up.

As the event organizer, though, it's totally up to you how you want to do it. If you want to give top priority to the players who cleared their schedule enough to confirm their sign-up earlier on, that's totally fair.

Bonus tip: If the event start time rolls around and you're not seeing some of the people you were totally sure were going to make it, send them a party invite or message, even if they're offline. I've missed an event or two because I forgot to toggle my profile back to "appear online." :p

I've prioritized RSVP over tentative in the past. But as others have said, it's totally up to you.

Now that I'm thinking about it, maybe a less confusing solution is to have the builder show RSVP and alternates? First come, first served on the sign ups, but you have backups in case somebody doesn't show. I know it's not much different, but maybe it removes some confusion/guilt on the event secheduler's part when the time comes to choose.
