I'm betting that a "new raid activity" is a six-player activity that can't justifiably be called a new raid. If tied in with the story, perhaps a revival or expansion of VoG? Or maybe a six-player activity that gets us to the Lighthouse?

Although it would seem kinda cheep, I feel like it could also me more modular component to the raid. We already have three, but if they add 3 more, there could be more rotation every week. Who is to say that Calus is done having fun with us? Or that we have completely explored his ship?

Also, the fact that they are bumping the top level up 5 makes me think they will be dropping more subclass trees in the near future. Most people are looking at the light level, but I'm looking at the actually level. This is the first time they have ever bumped that up with an Expansion right? D1 was 20 all the way through.

I'm great at being way off on these things. I'm still excited of the implications though :D

I saw a Youtube video last night (I think it was from MoreConsole) that mentioned that Mercury may possibly be procedural generated.

Anyone else heard this? I thought that was odd because didn't one of the Bungie devs knock No Man's Sky and mention how PG environments lacked the ability to create a truly excited space (or something like that.)

But also, how would a multiplayer sandbox PG world work?

Is there any merit to this comment or another source mentioning it?

It feels to me like it would be a major change to Destiny's systems to do a procedural generated patrol space. The Infinite Forest is described as

Infinite Forest - "a simulated reality in the middle of time, controlled by the Vex" - Mercury's new patrol zone.

I think the key words there are "patrol zone."

There's other stuff to consider for a patrol zone now in D2 as well. How would procedural generation work with the new map, for instance? Maybe it's not impossible, but it feels to me like someone read too much into "controlled by the Vex" and ran with some hopeful but unfounded speculation.

Yes, but it doesn't have to all be Procedurally generated. It could be that 80% of the patrol space is static while 20% of the "Vexy" stuff is PG. Like the floating pillars that appear out of nowhere.

I always feel like DLCs that focus on new story missions kind of miss the boat, and they should focus far more heavily on end game activities. Something something uncofmortable compromises between AAA content generation/ AAA marketing/ What destiny is and aspires to be and Activisions/Bungies difficulties in bridging

Personally, I am happy when when the marketing is focused on the core-draw experiences. I'm hoping that the end game content will have progressed in quality. I do think it is important to have that focus in the content for the end game, but I think expansion content that fails to provide anything beyond additional mechanical end game activities is a missed opportunity to bring about investment in the content of the world. Framing devices are very helpful for longevity for me and I am sure quite a variety of other people.
