Scout Rifles appear to have been nerfed. (Destiny)

A Reddit user has done some testing, and it seems that Scout Rifles are doing less damage after the 2.0 update than they previously were.
All other primary weapons seem to have been buffed. It’s unclear at this point if the nerf is intentional.

Here are some numbers:

“All weapons were tested at 380 (before and after 2.0) against the orange health Cabal at the very beginning on the Leviathan on normal difficulty:

Garden Progeny 1 • Warmind (body/head): 416 / 583 • Update 2.0 (body/head): 318 / 559

Nameless Midnight • Warmind: 177+283 / 391+283 • Update 2.0: 145+188 / 289+188

Niflheim Frost • Warmind: 354 / 495 • Update 2.0: 289 / 463

Tango-45 • Warmind: 318 / 445 • Update 2.0: 275 / 441

Conspirator • Warmind: 271 / 407 • Update 2.0: 235 / 412

Black Scorpion-4sr • Warmind: 215 / 323 • Update 2.0: 210 / 356”

Interesting. In the Crucible, we were noticing that The Jade Rabbit could now kill in 3 headshots (with no body shoot boosting) where it would have taken four shots before.

If I remember correctly, Bungie mentioned in a recent update that they were tweaking some (all?) Primary weapons so that body shots were slightly weaker, but crit hits would be stronger than before. Looking at the breakdown from that Reddit post, that holds true for one of the Scout Rifles that were tested, while all the rest were nerfed across the board. It’s certainly possible that there are several Scout Rifles that now do more crit damage than before. So Jade Rabbit could theoretically be one of them.
