You can sometimes hear the 1st Crota Raid Chest upon death (Destiny)

When attempting to solo the first chest on the Crota Raid. If you die in a chest spawn room you can hear the chest proximity sound in the Darkness Screen IF the chest will spawn in the room you died in.
A good example of this is the 2nd chest spawn room. If you die in that room while trying to solo the chest and if the chest is going to spawn there next time you will hear it in the darkness screen.
Neat, but not a very time-efficient trick

Getting yourself killed in there takes longer than sprinting back from the fork (where you can see the light indicator) into the abyss.
