Uh, no. Obsidian Mind's perks are so Intellect-focused that the armor value is irrelevant.

Edit: I got Obsidian Mind as a Nightfall drop a few weeks ago, the stats are almost identical to this one from Xur.

The answer to whether you can still max INT really depends on how much INT your other armor pieces provide. But, like Pete said, Obsidian Mind's effects are so extreme that it's likely your super will be up MUCH faster than before regardless. The only way it wouldn't is if you managed to hit nothing with your Nova bomb, and if that's happening frequently you should probably just stop warlocking. ;)

Edit: Also, the only proper gun to use with Obsidian Mind is Bad Juju.

The game won't let you into an activity that is more than three levels above your level. The problem is that running it by myself - it would take me 3-4 times as long to run a mission (like The Dark Beyond for example) on level 9 instead of 6 if I'm a level 6. With friends helping, I can run through everything on the highest setting it will allow me to enter (up to 3 above me) and the over-leveled friends can be the ones to make sure we speed through the missions but I still get the increased xp rewards.

I could probably run through everything solo and still hit level 20 by tomorrow evening, but it would probably cut a third off that time if I have help.

We did it!! After starting a fresh hunter at about 5pm yesterday, and playing for about 5 hours yesterday and another 6 today -- I hit level 20 at about 5:30 pm. I then quickly threw on my gear from my other (lvl 30) Hunter and we did the Weekly Heroic strike. I am now the proud owner of an Icebreaker! (Well, technically it was my fourth Icebreaker, but my first on Xbox which is the important part).

HUGE thanks to Squid and his friend SA Assassin, Kermit, and ESPECIALLY Stabbim (who was carrying me almost the entire way from 1 through 20 and the Weekly).

A fully upgraded Last Word is my favorite hand cannon in the game. It packs quite a punch with its ROF but isn't all that useful in crucible except in the iron banner, where it wrecks.

Ah - I was lamenting not having enough coins to get Last Word. I was bitter, in fact. Now I'm looking squarely at The Obsidian Mind and feeling alright.

It's lack of ammo for starters. Then there's the fact it only rapid fires when holding down the trigger and the recoil is stupid, lack of range and the impact and ROF are exactly the same as my thorn 2.0.

I've predominately been a scout/ auto rifle guy myself. I have scout rifle ammo perk on chest piece with scout reload on gaunts, this with me being a hunter for stacked precision/ reload when killing coupled with my fully upgraded MIDA 2.0 + field scout and the hand cannon is redundant.

Also I have extra ammo for autos on just my boots which gives me 600-700 ammo with my hard light and my vg auto rifle which I got from engram rolled with stability bonus AND fitted stock, with it's 900 ammo is just a complete laser beam.

I was expecting to be able to trigger finger TLW and be landing descent shots from atleast semi-mid range, so it feels like a real let down compared to my other guns. And it just runs out of ammo too quickly to be useful to me, even landing ALL precision shots.

I find I can fire TLW much faster than Thorn without holding down the trigger. Don't give up on TLW until you've unlocked it's last perk. It DRASTICALLY alters the gun, for the better, by having almost no recoil/drift.

TLW has a fast rate of fire even without holding it in full auto, and once you get perfect balance for it, it's got very little recoil. I like the full auto mode as an option when someone is right up on me. This allows me to run with a longer range secondary instead of my usual shotgun.

The small clip size is a factor, especially since you can fire so quickly. You have to really try to avoid certain encounters (granted, those encounters should be avoided normally anyways). I have a pair of gauntlets that increases reload speed of hand cannons that I use when running with it.

That all being said, I'm seeing a lot of upgraded Thorns doing a lot of damage in the IB this week. The lasting damage effect is particularly effective.

The lack of ammo for this weapon is just something I cannot ignore.

It's special perks are very game changing in close combat but, Thorn 2.0 fully upgraded has lingering damage AND a 9 clip, that 1 bullet makes all the difference in the long run, the sights for thorn > TLW sights as well.

I think I'll vault TLW till I get XBL back and run it in the crux.

I've never seen a gun in Destiny that had that perk description. Perhaps you're thinking of Borderlands? There was a perk in BL2 that matched almost word-for-word.

TBH, I might buy a couple myself. I don't bother swapping most weapons between characters much, but Ice Breaker (even an un-upgraded one) is so useful that I wouldn't mind having one on each character, just to avoid vault-swapping it constantly. And it's not like I'm short on coins at the moment.

He had it before and he'll have it again, so if it we're me in this situation, I'd hold off.

A 300dmg IB is still REALLY useful, and is capable of stun locking phogoth and other large enemies, for example.
