Question from the oblivious person (Destiny)

So, I keep hearing the terms "Comet" and "Destiny 2" flying all over the place in this forum and apart from what I hear here I had never heard anything of the sort from any other source.
Until yesterday. I read it in a gaming magazine, and they were making fun of Destiny. So did I just miss a major article? or is this speculation?

Originally it was:
- Destiny - 2013
- Comet 1 - 2014
- Destiny 2 -2015
- Comet 2 - 2016
- Destiny 3 - 2017
- Comet 3 - 2018
- Destiny 4 - 2019
- Comet 4 - 2020
With a budget for support for 3 years after the release of Comet 4 in 2020 - taking them all the way to 2023. The original release plan was also - obviously - a major factor in developing for both generations.
