Friday Fan Fiction

Now that the holidays are past, I finally had time to look at the fan fiction queue. (I'm embarrassed to admit that a couple of stories have been sitting there for a little while.) We have three new items today: PerseusSpartacus continues his "Introversion on the Key of D Minor" series, kemachiro released the full-length version of "A Hunter's Journey" (and it's hefty, coming in at novella length), and Gilead contributed a charming story about a girl and her robot. If you haven't seen it already, INSANEdrive fulfilled my wish and used yesterday's Game Informer cover as a mock-up for Destiny's final packaging. Clean, crisp, cool - I'll take it!

Introversion in the Key of D Minor

DeeJ: Ah, the proverbial Lone Wolf. You can experience Destiny’s story as a party of one, assuming you’re that much of a badass. Destiny will never require you to team up with other people in campaign missions. You’ll see other players along the way, but you can choose to ignore them. That said, we think you’ll find that playing with other Guardians is quick, painless, and a ton of fun. It’s always your choice, though.

Flabbergasted.

Looks like Karin Olava has finished her Gjallarhorn... and it's astounding. Those details... you just have to admire the touches. Remember: just one week ago, those faces came out of the oven, in raw form  - today, they are beautifully antiqued and looked carved from metal. Fantastic! Thanks to Spawn for pointing it out on our forum.

Weaponsmithing and Dead Orbits

Two new stories have been released from the queue for your Monday morning reading. First, WM has added the fifth installment of his Vanguards of Dead Orbit series -- lots of action! Next, Godshaker continues the Traxis saga and speculates on the nature of exotic weapons in Destiny. Grab a coffee and dive into some fan fiction!

Mad Laws

Over at Reddit, roverdover set the 'Law of the Jungle' footage to Gary Jules' version of 'Mad World' - it changed the flavor of Gears of War, it was seriously overused for lots and lots of flavors of Halo... and now it's given a Destiny piece a whole new tone. Go watch!

Duel of the Fates

Desti-Nation created 'Duel of the Fates' - it's a fan-made trailer that uses Star Wars music to bring out the oomph in some recent Destiny footage. Feels really great! Go watch.

A few days ago, Bungie fan Matty Armitage tweeted this excellent piece of Destiny art. Has the Black Garden been overrun by a plague of Spider Tanks? Has the hunter become the hunted?

3D Fan Render - You NEED To See This.

3D-artist Javelin/Dustin Gagner shared his recreation of a piece of Bungie concept art from their GDC panel to the Bungie.Net Forums. You can check out more views and in-progress shots on his blog. Holy crap.
