Come to think of it, I can actually see a benefit to it... (reply)

The Relic jumper should have no problem grabbing the Aura straight from the Relic platform, since it'll now be a short jump to the nearest sister.

If you see the Relic above R1 or R2, you're going to shoot the sister on that side. The second he grabs the relic, everyone runs to the adjacent platform, and the Jumper should have stolen the Aura by the time everyone's in position.

Just came across a "new" strategy on Reddit where you kill the flailing sister (Ir Halak) first instead of the other one. This is the kind of thing that I would have thought had already been discovered and would have been the first thing our group tried if our friendly *cough*asshole*cough* guide hadn't specifically told us that attacking the angry red sister would cause us to wipe instead of letting us figure out the encounter on our own.

I don't know that the snipers have really been an issue more than once or twice in all of the times I've done the raid, but it might help just having one less thing to look out for.

-Disciple

Our clan did this method our very first blind Raid run, so it's really weird hearing it as breaking news.

It's about timing; if your group is tight and your randomly-chosen runner can get to the daughter fast enough, sure. For our clan, we tended to be more concerned about "keeping it going" because we would be successful as long as we didn't wipe; if it took 3 rounds or 4, who cares.

Killing the singing daughter doesn't give you any safety net. Once you kill that first one, you must kill the second one on the next round, and it will be at 100% health. And on hard mode, you don't have as much time to set up for the second run, so you potentially have a smaller window in which to do damage.

Like Golgoroth, just choose the method that is best for your group.

Sister Swap *KF Raid Spoilz* (reply)

Timers start at 1 minute. Jump on platforms in the proper order. Start shooting anything that moves (all initial adds are in the middle)
45 seconds... people on platforms get ready for snipers.
40 seconds... kill snipers (there is one behind each platform, they die in 2-3 shots each, or one snipe). The runner should be nearing the relic.
32 seconds... throw grenades where the second round of adds spawn. Runner relic slam!
30 seconds... Move to the place where you're gonna shoot sister 1 from.
29-0 seconds... shoot the living piss out of sister 1.

Repeat, but shoot sister 2 this time.

Why is anyone ever worried about snipers?

Snipers are the least of your worries (reply)

Even on hard, the snipers are fairly simple to deal with. The biggest issue is getting people to their posts on time and making all the jumps. I'm not sure what this buys you?

Something that some groups still don't get for some reason is that Snipers appear at 42 seconds, and are dead two seconds later. A good jumper will have the Relic as the Snipers are getting shot, which means no time is lost or gained from avoiding the snipers.

All that the "new" strategy does is waste ammo since the sister is harder to Crit.

Damage (reply)

Both sisters have an aura, one is Weaving and the other is Unraveling. Yin and Yang.

One of the Daughters starts singing her Deathsong and you normally steal the aura from the silent sister so as to cancel the effect of the current song. This protects you so that you can make multiple passes at each sister, which is necessary at lower Light levels. If you’re able to kill the Daughters in one pass, though, then you don’t need to worry about the song at all and you’re free to just steal the aura from the singer and go for it.

Apparently doing it this way prevents the snipers from appearing, but I think that’s hardly worth the tradeoff since the singer is harder to hit because she’s moving around a lot. :-\

I'm a little confused - so you're supposed to slam the brand on Ir Halak's platform first? I thought we'd tried that a few times (on normal, not hard), and each time we wiped.

The way that reddit post reads, though, is that the ONLY difference is that you shoot Ir Halak first, instead of Ir Anuk - I didn't even think you could do damage to her if you slammed the brand on the other side. :(
