Definitive King's Fall Strats? *Vid* (reply)

My problem is not the platforms, it's getting from the last platform to the pillar in a reasonable amount of time if I'm not playing the titan. (I imagine the Warlock could jump the distance too, but I have a lot of leveling to do before I can try it with my warlock. )

Prove your Worth problem Solving (reply)

If someone dies or you don't get the aura it's not the end of the world. Even on Hard mode.

1. You don't get the aura.

You might not get the aura for a few reasons. Maybe you are too far away. Maybe you are in a stormtrance super (bug I'm sure). If this happens don't panic. Simply say that you didn't get it and not to switch. Once the person in the middle gets rid of their deathsinger's power, have them grab the aura off the pedestal on their way back, then you can begin your switch. Wait on the totem and try not to take damage or die, and when they get there you can start again as normal, just with the order now a little different.

2. Someone died.

You can do it with two people. If someone is dead you'll have to play it the following way with two people on a side. When the time comes to switch, have the person in the middle run towards the totem and grab the aura off the pedestal. Then when they have grabbed the aura, run to the middle yourself and get rid of your power. Repeat. The encounter is possible with only 4 people.

Definitely one of the weirdest raids I have ever done. *VID* (reply)

Funkmon's Kings Fall Strategies (reply)

Thanks for that :) Although it's not always correct; I remember a Golgoroth run a while back where we made several attempts with the two-gaze strategy I was used to running at the time. We kept loosing guardians to Thrall explosions early (because thrall spawn every time the gaze shifts). We reverted to the regular d.b.o one-gaze strategy and finished the first try.

Guess which strategy Saylor and I now use for Golgoroth?

Golgoroth (reply)

The one orb method seems to be the most popular.

Someone just posted a description of a great 1 orb method on reddit. I've tried it and it's very easy.

https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/40ru2o/crazy_quick_golgoroth_stratergy/

Additionally, the person with unstable light can simply run right up to golgoroth. The others are out of range when it detonates. That way they can keep shooting!

Wow, that sounds great! (Not sure about the unstable light bit; you're running forward, so the guys you're trying to protect from yourself are behind you... seems easy to misjudge and be one step too close to them... but certainly the method.)

Can confirm running to golg works fine. The explosion of unstable light is about as big as the light puddle, so you're plenty far enough away when it goes off.

Honestly though: Jumping in a counter-clockwise direction is not hard. L2Torn.

All I said was that this section was, by far, the most spotty in terms of completion - by every group I've ever played with. From beginners trying our first blind raid to folks carrying me through on one of their 3-per-week completions. (Mistakes happen, even with folks who are superb at the raid, and when they do, in my experience, they most often happen on the Sisters.)

I didn't say it was hard, or that I SHOULDN'T be able to do it - just that I, and many, many other people I've observed personally, have had trouble with it.

I'm surprised, is all. It's weird to me that you will encounter mistakes on Sisters, where 2 people can die and you can still finish it, more than Oryx where only 1 person can die. Heck, I've even finished sisters where the runner jumped clear off the map on his first jump. We got lucky that the next guy to get torn wasn't already standing on his tower, but still - far more recoverable than the oryx fight. Don't get me wrong, I believe you. I simply find it interesting that different raid groups, this long after the raid came out, have such different experiences of the raid.

Definitive King's Fall Strats? *Vid* (reply)

Out of curiosity, is this a fight that has given you guys trouble? I've seen a lot of threads here recently about how to do Sisters, but that fight seems like a complete gimmie to me. ToM if you have it, another scout rifle if you don't, and it's a quick and easy win.

I find that Sisters is, by a wide margin, the biggest wipe area - and it's primarily due to the random Torn person. Lots of us (MANY OF US) can't do the stupid spark jumping with any consistency, or at least in a reasonable timeframe. The wrong person gets randomly torn, and you wipe, even if everyone else does their job perfectly - no other section of KF is so unforgiving. (It's worse on the second round, because you're so close to being done.)

First round torn person: If you don't like who is torn, they can jump off the edge before the fight starts and a new person will become torn.

Second round: Good luck.

Honestly though: Jumping in a counter-clockwise direction is not hard. L2Torn.
