It took some time but I got it fixed. The problem was with the Sparrow horns - the one thing you can't transfer using the Destiny companion app.

Fill up your inventory, make sure nothing is flashing, then remove what you don't need, should fix it.

You know that shimmer that appears over new engrams or other items that are new in your inventory, that same shimmer that is applied to the icon at the bottom that indicates there is something new (like a shader or ship) that you haven't yet looked at? It is supposed to stop shimmering after you have gone and looked at.

On my hunter, that icon has been shimmering for months now. The one at the bottom that tells you there is something new on the other screen. I thought that the update would cure it but it didn't.

Yes, I have gone through every. single. item. multiple times.

Any ideas?
