I think someone else mentioned it before, but what if there was a random snow shower in the Cosmodrome somewhere? It wouldn't have to stick anywhere, just flurries in the air.
This would be awesome. It could literally be just one of them. Hell, I would love to see lone guys of a random race someplace they shouldn't be :-)

Even subtle unannounced changes to the patrol spaces would really sell the "living world" idea. If you made them rare I think that would build a lot of excitement as people scramble to witness the change.

I want more passing of time (reply)

That's what Bungie should've done. Swords one week, Wolves another week, Taken week after that. Switch. Do they even DO Pike Invasions any more? (Probably, but I'm on a tear here.)

I'm officially over the Taken warps. And anyone who didn't get Destiny before May 2015 has missed out on two great(and admit it, at this point--refreshing) world events.

Side note: Notice that the Swords were about 5,6 months...the Wolves were four months...and unless Bungie has a rabbit's foot in that jar with the dog's head, that the Taken warps has been a full year?!

Seriously.

The House of Wolves was scattered until Skolas was set free by The Nine, and the Taken weren't even in our solar system until after Atheon, Crota, and Skolas were defeated. The big public events are one of the few things that mark the passage of time in Destiny and you want that taken away?

Considering that Oryx has already fallen and the quests could fall under the title "Mop Up Duty", I don't see why they can't narratively have some "Crota's minions have flared up again, get out there and take their swords guardian" action. It doesn't need to be on a weekly event, and Eris's ship doesn't need to come back, but I like the idea of Patrol being even more alive.

You're right. I want it to be kinda random too. It would be nice to actually be able to tell a buddy about a random event that happened. Right now you can basically set your watch to events...

Well, we all killed Oryx 11 months ago. (reply)

The Taken War quest line and missions make it very clear that the Taken remained a significant threat even after we killed Oryx. As did the April Update with its short quest to kill that escaped Taken boss. We all want more content, but removing the Taken just because we killed Oryx makes zero sense.

ROTATING Public Events (reply)

Yes.

I think it's neat that each new expansion has brought a unique public event to the world. I also think it's lame that they stick around for so long and never come back when they're gone. World events are such a huge missed opportunity to make patrol fun and exciting. I know it's difficult and that I can't even begin to understand the true complexities of making a video game, but man, I still can't help feeling like Bungie needs a better content pipeline. Imagine a new world even every month or two, even something as simple as an enemy faction sending scout parties to a world they're not normally found on. Why don't the Cabal hit up the moon for a month? Why don't the Fallen go see what's going on the with the Dreadnaught?
