It's almost as bad as titles that give you no clue what the post is about!

I didn't make the title more descriptive partly because the whole question wouldn't fit in the subject field.

I think we should add an L: call them postlings

How about this for a possibly better question: Why does the forum call them "postings"?

Well, I have heard of 'postings' before, but ok, 'posts' is obviously the most common.

I'm quite fond of 'digital telegraphed notings' myself.
