Not to poop on your attempted brag, but as far a small I know, consoles only support up to 8TB of External storage (unless that's just the PS4's cap), so nothing bigger is of any use...

Sure, they have more sensible sizes (4TB and under) for under $100, but why not go big?

Because it's a seagate and they are bad. Not as bad as WD, but not as good as Toshiba or HGST.
