1. always use fireteam medallions
2. milestones have small chance (weekly spider legendary bounty seems to have highest chance)
3. farm boons: using boons during strikes or crucible will sometimes gift legendary and rarely gift exotic drops
4. killing yellow bar enemies sometimes drops exotics
5. resetting valor rank sometimes rewards exotics
