So. the speed thing isn't news to me. I've always known that the legendaries just randomly have 150 or 160, they're not set for any given name. What IS news to me is that they have random perks when you pull them from collections. If that applies to the exotics as well (not the speed, obviously, but the perks) I might have to re-examine a few that I got in the past.

I'm at work and can't verify, but I believe it works this way:
Exotic Weapons and Armor: Fixed Perks
Exotic Ships and Sparrows: Random Transmat Effect or Perk

Ever have that moment of disappointment that comes along with getting a cool looking new sparrow, only to notice that it’s speed rating is a measly 150? Well today I discovered that when you reaquire sparrows out of your Collections tab, they come with random perks, and occasionally they’ll drop with a speed rating of 160.

I pulled 15 new Dreaming City sparrows from my collection in order to get 3 of them with a speed rating of 160 (1 for each character). So thedrop rates don’t seem to be too bad. It costs a few shards and some bright dust each time, but the price isn’t too steep.

Just wanted to put this out there :)
