I got the Auto Rifle (with Multikill Clip, which rules), but I have no idea how. I’ve seen talk about the weapons being tied to specific things, like killing a HVT in Gambit Prime.

All I've got so far is the garbage SMG. Yay!

The Curated rolls have been dropong for people as rare drops along side synths. I have seen suggestions they are tied to specific actions, but it doesn’t look like that is consistent on a per-weapon basis.

When you say it's based on specific actions, that might be true. Mainly because I have seen that specific synths have a chance of dropping on specific actions related to the type of synths. Like get a multi-kill on invasion has a chance of dropping a red synth. It might make sense that there on top of that there is a even smaller chance to drop a weapon, which would be cool.

The two new weapons I've gotten have both dropped by finishing the mini-quest that Drifter starts out for you. (Play a game of Gambit Prime, then play a round of Reckoning.)
