There was a lot of speculation early on about the emblems sold by the Speaker, but that was shut down pretty quickly:

Added Perks
While this emblem is equipped, drop rates for Rare and Legendary Engrams, as well as Exotics, is increased by 7% for the entire Fireteam..

This would be so incredibly awesome if it did, but then, I'd feel obligated to always wear & share this. I would miss out on other cool emblems I have such as "The Inner Chamber".

Remember the Mida multi-tool pointing to chests? This is the same level of sloppy quality speculation. Not only do these not influence anything, but iirc, some Bungle guy confirmed that they just look cool.
