Fight me medal cheese (Destiny)

I’ve discovered what might be the most useless cheese ever, but here it goes.

The “fight me” medal in PvP goes to whoever did the most damage in the match. If you really want it, take your golden gun and repeatedly shoot a titan barrier or ward of dawn. For some reason, golden gun does a disproportionate amount of damage to these things. I shot through a barrier and ended up with 17K damage at the end of the round. Ward of dawn takes even more.

ANYTHING doing damage to a Ward of Dawn does disproportionate damage. I've had 35k games when the other team's Sentinel kept dropping domes and I kept smashing them with my Striker.

I don't know why this is -just that it's been a thing for as long as D2 has been around.

I think it’s because Supers have to be able to break the Shield, which has its own health pool, and Bungie gave them a damage multiplier in order to ensure that they pop it consistently. So if the Shield has 20k health, A Golden Gun shot must do 10k damage per shot to it, whereas it only does like 400 damage against an enemy Guardian.

I don't think that adds up. You can shoot down a titan barrier with regular guns, and it doesn't take anywhere near that much damage before dropping.

The math wasn’t exact, man. I made up the numbers just to explain HOW it likely works based on things that Bungie has said in the past, especially when it comes to Super vs. Super.

Titan walls obviously have way fewer hit points than a Bubble, so the multiplier is smaller, but still enough to guarantee that Supers can drop it
