I really like the work Danny is doing with Noclip. My only real issue is that all of his docs are basically fluff pieces for success stories. That’s fine, and realistically the only sort of thing he’s going to be able to do with developer involvement. They are still interesting behind the scenes stories about making games, which is great thing to see, and they’re well worth watching.

His Bethesda and Fallout 76 stuff really felt bad to me, as it was basically an 40 minute advertisement for a game, and it feels especially bad in hindsight given the trashfire that game was.

This might be the first “hard hitting” thing he’s done. It’s probably easier given that Telltale doesn’t exist anymore, but is recent enough that those people are easy to track down and get ahold of.

Now you have me interested to watch. I felt the same way about past docs.

It wasn't a criticism of the studio, but the Astroneer one was pretty hard hitting.

Honestly, I haven’t seen that one. I watch most of his stuff, but haven’t been through all of it yet. I’ll make time for it, though. Astroneer seems like a cool game, but I don’t know anything about it’s development.
