Looks like the last time I upgraded the server, I accidentally reset the permissions on the avatar directory.

There was a ?bug in the forum software that caused transparent PNGs to have their alpha channels turned to black when they were stored as avatars. We patched it last night, so transparent PNGs should work now. If anyone else has seen that issue, you should be able to re-upload your avatars and get transparency now.
