Bungie's selling a pretty nice ship poster on their store - the preview shows a bunch of writing that's far too small to make out. If you're one of those people who likes to know what they're getting, stop into this thread in our forum - Xenos received his poster yesterday, and took some pics. (There's one in the opening post, and another pair in this post.) Helpful!
The Bungie Blog posted a new "Breaking In" article today with Content Tools Team Lead Aaron Leiberman. Aaron heads up the team responsible for Destiny's world and toolbox editors – Grognok and Bonobo – among others. It sounds like he genuinely enjoys empowering the artists and designers who are building those brave new worlds that we're so eagerly waiting to explore, so go check out what he has to say!
DeeJ is collecting mail for this week's Mail Sack - ask a question!
VentureBeat has an interview with Pete Parsons about where Destiny came from, and where it might be going, and what Pete's learned along the way. Great read!
Kotaku is mean. (I laughed, though.) Thanks, INSANEdrive.
Xenos took screen captures of all the weapons shown in the Destiny PS4 Announcement trailer - apparently this game is a shooter. ;)
And here is what Bungie showed moments ago at the Sony PS4 reveal. Enjoy!
For those of you who haven't heard, Bungie just confirmed at the Sony PlayStation 4 reveal event moments ago that Destiny will be coming out for both the PS3 and PS4. No word yet on any release schedule, but they did confirm that there will be "exclusive playable content" for PlayStation users. We'll show what they showed as soon as we've got it!
According to Polygon, Marty O'Donnell was spotted at the NYC Sony Playstation 2013 event venue last night. Perhaps Destiny will make an appearence at today's Playstation briefing. You can catch the stream here at 3pm PST. Thanks, stabbim.
Hedge pointed out that Jaime Jones is finally able to take credit for some of the Destiny concept art he's created - keep an eye on his blog!
The Bungie Store's Destiny Collection has grown - there's a sweet ship poster and some funky decals. Go explore! Thanks, Xenos.
Because it's good to have a record of these things, we've put up a copy of the Activision Press Release for Destiny - but you can find it on Activision's investor site, as well. (We'd put up Bungie's version, but I couldn't find one.) It's mostly stuff you've seen elsewhere - but there was one line worth pointing out:
Activision reiterated that although Bungie's amazing new world was revealed today, Activision has not included the launch in its 2013 outlook and there should be no speculation or expectation of a different result.
Wonga. (Amazon's got December 31, 2013 as a release date - clearly, that's just a placeholder.) Thanks to JDQuackers for the heads-up.
The Breaking-In series at Bungie has a new entry - Joe Cross is a Senior Concept Artist at Bungie, and the banter between Joe and Deej will give you a sense of what it's like to be creating assets for a new property like Destiny. (And I can finally feel less guilty for posting off-topic Bungie news on HBO - it's totally relevant and on-topic here!) Thanks, Beorn.
In addition to today's ViDoc, Bungie has released a wealth of new Destiny content at various official pages:
The Destiny media embargo has lifted and a slew of websites released articles and videos detailing the recent press event held at Bungie's Bellevue headquarters. Go check out what everyone is saying!
