UncookedMoa wanted to share their fan-made Destiny trailer, "We Are Guardians", featuring "Final Hour" by X-Ray Dog. I think the result is pretty slick! Check it out!
This one managed to slip through the cracks! Back on Tuesday, Bungie did an encore performance of the Destiny demo on the Sony stage at E3, followed by a PlayStation Blog interview with DeeJ. You can catch the whole presentation below, or you can skip straight to the interview at 15:12 (thanks, Xenos).
Bungie has posted a Day 2 E3 ReCap Video; this episode features an animation about the Traveler arriving in the Solar System, accompanied by some beautiful Marty music. (Thanks, MrDaax).
Polygon has an in-depth article from E3 covering Destiny and what its success means to Bungie. It's a well-written article that covers a lot of content and takes a slightly different tack than most of the E3 coverage we've seen. It even sounds like they may have had some hands-on time with the demo! If you only read one article about Destiny from E3 this week, this article should be on the short list. (Thanks, Xenos).
If you were curious about the PS4 controller layout being used in the recent E3 demos, we've got you covered with this informative card we snagged from the Bungie booth. Keep in mind, everything is subject to change. (But yes, there is dancing and it looks groovy.)
Xenos let us know that Destiny preorders are now available for the upcoming Xbox One at Amazon. If that's your platform of fancy, go and plop down some spacebucks!
The line for the Destiny booth has a neat slideshow showing off an armful of the weapons you can see in the demo. DattoDoesDestiny put together a video that'll give you the rundown, so check it out! (Thanks, electricpirate.)
The E3 Destiny interviews are rolling in! Bruce Green from Machinima talked to Pete Parsons yesterday for about 15 minutes, covering an array of topics including the campaign/multiplayer dynamic and the scale of playable space in Destiny (among others). Thanks, electricpirate.
Polygon has some comments from Harold Ryan about the thought process behind the gameplay demo showing at E3, as well as some tidbits about the loot system in Destiny - swing by and give it a read!
When Hedge is excited, the birds fly lighter, the tides rise higher, the chocolate tastes sweeter, the kiss lasts longer, the love grows stronger. When Hedge is excited, we are excited.
Sony's blog contains information on how/when to watch the livestreamed press conference this coming Monday - and for a very lucky few, how to get in to see the conference in person. Festivities start at 5:30 Pacific (earlier if you're trying to get in the door) - so go read and set yourself up! Destiny will be there! Thanks, Xenos.
The finalists for the Art and Stuff contest have been announced. Now it's up to the community to vote for their favorite piece of Destiny fan art. Congrats to the finalists - great work! Be sure to also check out all of the community art that was submitted.
The Tied the Leader clan is a fantastic example of like-minded gamers getting together to enhance the community gaming experience. TTL Demag0gue (who staffs our own Destiny site, as well as being a Gunslinger) asked a number of his clanmates what they're looking forward to when Bungie lifts (a part of) the veil next week at E3 - swing by and read the answers!
Our E3 preparation continues with a request for the video animators within our community. We still have a semi-regular stream of fan fiction flowing in for your weekend reading. Ragashingo posted another story earlier this week that speculates on a particularly nasty breed of Vex in A Helping Hand. Then, a Hunter delving into the icy moon of Enceladus stumbles across a completely different kind of guardian in The Guardian and the Archive. Go read!
The Destiny twitter feed announced that a live action/CG trailer for Destiny will be aired this Thursday - exciting! The tweet includes a mysterious picture with the words "Law of the Jungle", I wonder what it means. Thanks, Chewbaccawakka.
With the recent unveiling of the new Xbox One console from Microsoft, Bungie confirmed that Destiny will indeed be launching on four platforms: Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, and PS3. Not surprising, but still great to hear confirmed!
Cal Carlson let us know that the 'Art and Stuff' group on Bungie.net is hosting another contest - you must create an original piece of art depicting what you want your Destiny character to look like. Winners will be adorned with awesome swag from Bungie themselves! The deadline is May 21st, so dip your paint brushes (or turn on your digital drawing tablet) and start creating!
Ragashingo added his story from The DBO Challenge Week 5 thread to the fan fiction archive. In it a group of Guardians discover a hidden vault on Mercury that raises more questions than it answers. Go read!
