Bungie Weekly Update - May 04, 2017

Despite a relatively slow news week in the buildup to the Destiny 2 gameplay reveal on May 18, this Bungie Weekly Update details Bungie's efforts to greet Destiny 2 with a bang. Most notably, the upcoming Iron Banner will have Mayhem Clash as the gametype! Not only that, but some of the most coveted IB loot is up for grabs (including the Clever Dragon and The Silvered Dread), so there's never been a better time to hop into Iron Banner.

In other update news, Destiny Player Support has let us know that the maintenance that was scheduled for this week has been postponed to the week of May 16th, those of you in the Qatar region of the game will have a Bungie Bounty specially tailored to you, and the Movies of the Week are great if you're into montages of all kinds. Bungie Weekly Update - April 28, 2017

This week, Bungie's update came a little bit later than usual - likely because they were busy figuring out who to invite to the Destiny 2 gameplay Premiere in a few weeks. More details about this, along with B.net forum multi-language localization info, new Mentors and Ninjas on B.net, stickers for your iPhone iMessages, and the usual standard inclusions (support notes, fan videos) can be found in this week's missive (either on b.net, linked above, or locally, in our own archive). Good stuff - go read! [Side note: on our forum, INSANEdrive has made the stickers individually available, for folks who might want to use them in other contexts but lack resources to hack up the composite file.]

This (well, Last) Week at Bungie - 4/20/2017

Apologies for the delay; while you were playing Destiny, we were touring Cuba. Back now, though, with an eye on the ball again - so let's look at last week's update! In it you'll find a reminder of the first Destiny 2 Livestream event (coming in a few weeks), some tweets from Raid-ready fireteams, info about the latest patch (check our next newspost for more on that), and the standard features - Player Support notes, Bungie Bounty info, and fan movies. This Week at Bungie - 04/13/2017

Bungie is back with another update - visit Bungie.net or our own Weekly Update Archive to read it. Inside: chances to support cool causes, info about an upcoming Destiny patch, hints from the Player Support team (don't lose your AoT Ornaments!), and the normal inclusions (Bungie Bounty, fan videos). This Week at Bungie - 04/06/2017

Bungie posted their latest update yesterday, as they usually do on Thursdays, and although our local copy went up then as well, it isn't making it to the front page until now. Apologies - it's awfully blustery today here in Seattle! Swing by now and give it a read - the highlights include a teaser on when the next Destiny 2 info is coming (spoilers - not this month), some info about next week's Iron Banner event, and the usual features (support details from Destiny Player Support, info about the next Bungie Bounty, and fan-made videos). This Week At Bungie - 03/30/2017

Bungie's been busy this week, so the Weekly update is fairly slim. The main focus are the two teasers released for Destiny 2 (all aboard the hype train!), and some record book troubleshooting courtesy of Destiny Player Support. Next week's Bungie Bounty and a very fitting MotW close out the update. As always, a local copy is also available!

This Week At Bungie - 03/23/2017

Bungie's update this week does not confirm or deny the veracity of any recently "leaked" info, but that doesn't mean folks won't find plenty of info. The main focus is on this week's Sandbox Update stream (the final stream before next week's launch of the Age of Triumph update). You will find a recap of the AoT Sandbox reveal (as well as answers to questions that were not addressed in the stream), and Destiny Player Support has some important info to help you prepare for next week's update (2.6.0).
Rounding out the Weekly Update is info on tomorrow's Bungie Bounty, and a varied selection of Movies of the Week. As always, a local copy is available for reading, and be sure to clear out some vault space for that sweet Vault of Glass loot!

This Week at Bungie - 03/17/2017

The weekly update from Bungie was delayed a day - but it's up now. Unsurprisingly, it's focused on the soon-to-arrive Age of Triumph event - if you missed Wednesday's stream showing off the Rituals Archive, it's included in this update. There are also details about Crucible changes, explanations of how the Story Playlist will work, and all the regular features you've come to expect - support notes, Bungie Bounty details, and fan-created videos. This week's update at Bungie is all about the upcoming live event, Age of Triumph, and the reveals along the way to that event. Swing by for an archived version of Wednesday's first reveal, along with a bullet-point summary. This Week At Bungie - 03/02/2017

The update that dropped yesterday was pretty light - mostly it said "wait until tomorrow for more news." (That news has dropped - see the next news post.) It's got the standard stuff - notes from the Support team, word of the next Bungie Bounty, some fan-created vids (the Nova Bomb catch was pretty cool, and the sub-3-minute Nightfall was impressive), but mostly this was a 'hey, more coming soon' update. This Week At Bungie - 02/23/2017

Bungie's latest update has some info you probably want to take a close look at. There's a summary of the changes they're considering, based on last week's rollout of Hotfix 2.5.0.2, and some are significant. There's information about next week's Iron Banner event, this time focused on Supremacy. There's a reminder of the next Bungie Bounty, happening tomorrow on PS4. THIS WEEK AT BUNGIE - 02/16/17

Bungie's weekly blog entry has a brief postmortem on the large sandbox update that went live this week.  Community reception, as always, has been mixed to say the least.  There is also some information on Bungie Bounties continuing as a weekly event going forward, and Bungie's plans to make appearances at the upcoming Emerald City Comic Con and PAX East.

After the usual Destiny Operations Center update and Movies of the Week (gotta love those "Dumb Ways to Die in Destiny montages!), the update closes with a somewhat cryptic mention of Deej heading to London to "catch up with some of the partners we work with in that corner of the world".

Bungie Weekly Update - February 9, 2017

Bungie's update this week reminds you that there's a Sandbox update coming next Tuesday - if you missed yesterday's Twitch stream on it, you can watch an archived version right from the update. There are also notes from the Player Support team, giving you a heads-up about issues that might arise. Finally, there are the standard trio of fan-created videos for your entertainment. Go read! (Our local version is up too, as it should be.)

This Week At Bungie - January 19

Yesterday was Thursday, so there was (as on most Thursdays) an update from Bungie, on the state of Destiny today. It contains some teasers about an upcoming content update, a warning for cheaters, and more info about Bungie Bounty Days (first mentioned in last  week's update), along with standard TWAB features like an update from the support team and fan-created videos. (We should also mention that our Patch Note Archive was updated earlier this week, with notes from the 2.5.0.1 update that dropped on Tuesday.)

This Year At Bungie - 12/15/16

We posted it in our Weekly Update Archive yesterday, but we're just getting around to telling you about the newest summary (This Year, not just This Week) at Bungie.net now. It's not really a look back at 2016... but it's definitely worth a read. There are two pieces of Dawning-related music to download, a reminder about a spotlight on the Localization team you might have missed a few days ago, notes from the Support team, and fan-created videos, along with nice Holiday wishes from DeeJ. Go check it out!

This Week At Bungie - December 8

You'll want to swing by and read this week's update from Bungie (either on Bungie.net or here in our own update archive); it's chock-full of juicy info. Next week The Dawning kicks off, and you'll have 3 weeks to get your fill of Sparrow racing before it goes away again. (Next Wednesday, Bungie will take on Rooster Teeth in a televised SRL-based Bungie Bounty.) Also in the update: new gear available during the event (pretty fun stuff!), a detailed preview of some of the changes coming in the update, and the standard stuff (player support, fan videos). Speaking of fan videos - the Movie of the Week is jaw-dropping. I'm almost embarrassed by the complaining I've done in the past about Bungie's Raid-based jumping puzzles; Epicookiez shows that they're so easy, you can do them on a Sparrow! You gotta watch.

It's Turkey Week in the US, and Bungie tells you what it's thankful for. (If you're not celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow, you should still enjoy time with family and friends. You just won't be doing it over a plate of turkey and mashed potatoes, probably.)

Bungie's weekly roundup of happenings was posted yesterday, as is standard for them - give it a read! It contains an archive of the Bungie "Raid" Along that took place earlier this week (a fascinating look at the Wrath of the Machine raid), along with a bunch of information about how matchmaking works in Destiny. (This information is being absorbed... with reservations, by the community. The thing to remember is, your personal experience is NOT necessarily representative of the average experience.) It's Thursday, so it's time for Bungie to let us know what's going on - this week is no exception. Yesterday, Bungie posted its latest info drop about Destiny - it contains lots of fun reading. There's an emblem giveaway, related to the Festival of the Lost, that you can get in on. There's a warning for cheaters playing Trials of Osiris. There's info from the support team, including current and solved problems. And there are some fun fan videos.
