Cross platform gameplay (Gaming)

Xbox One has gotten better and better since launch, and I think they're superior now (or soon will be) in every way except exclusives, which do matter.

Does the Xbox still show ads when you start it up to the dashboard? Then no, it's superior at all. For me that's deal breaker stuff and why I will never get one unless there's a countermeasure available.

So in the choice between anticonsumer actions taken by a company you give a pass to blocking technically feasible cross-platform gameplay in favor of decrying advertisements?

What will you do when Sony follows suits with ads on their dash?
