Random Thought: Did the vex not foresee the Almighty? (Destiny)

This makes sense to me as well. The entire motivation for the Red Legion being in our system was to steal the Light, so being unable to simulate the Light would mean the vex wouldn't see any of the results from interacting with it.

If I were the Vex, I'd try to steal the light too to understand it more.

I still don't get whether the light can be taken or not. The game gives completely contradicting points on this, but I guess it can since Ghaul did it.

It seems to me like the light is purposeful. Like it has a will of its own, or at least some influence. Sort of like the slime from Ghostbusters 2. Sort of.
