The “next thing” comment in the Vidoc would inply that they aren’t riding SoO too long.

I just rewatched the ViDoc and didn't get that impression from those final comments. I took it as, whatever is coming after SoO is going to be really rad but it didn't make me think that SoO was going to be a passive event.

I may be totally off on this one, but was Rise of Iron more of a contractual obligation thing? As in, it more so fulfilled a requirement instead of offering the send off of D1 that Bungie wanted? Due to this, my conspiracy theory is born. What they could make for Season of Redacted was always a variable. Had they stayed with Activision, we would be getting "Season of the Begrudged" or something. But now they are free and clear, so, "Season of Opulence"
