Why can't we manage our inventory with the app yet?

All I know is that my brain hurts when I'm working with the vault. I feel like I'm playing a shell game in which I'm trying to remember under which shell can I do what action.

Can't compare because it's not equipped. Can't store because it's equipped. Can't delete or equip because I can only store. Can't delete because I can only take. It's maddening.
