It can also be seen as a way for people to find things to do in the game. If you have a strong community, or you read blogs, or whatever they might let you know about things to do, but there should be an in-game resource for this. I totally understand if people think that it should be more "themed" to be in-world or more character driven, but for a game the size of Destiny, there should be something. (Bounties ARE serving the same if not a very similar purpose.)
