On Preorders: Xbox Live Store now offers Refunds (Destiny)

As most of you are aware, I stand staunchly against pre-orders for many, many reasons.

HOWEVER,

The possibility of a refund if you find that you received a product other than what you expected negates the reasons why I am against preorders. So, I am pleased to announce that you can now get refunds from the Xbox Live store for preordered digital content that is not up to snuff.

There are conditions:

- Purchase must have been made in the last 14 days.
- You must have played less than 2 hours of the game.
- There are no refunds for add-ons, DLC, or season passes.

This is a great first step that should be applauded.

I would, of course, like to see the purchase time extended to all pre-orders, regardless of how early they were made, with a 14 day window put in place only once a game has been on the marketplace for 14 days, and I'd like to see it expanded to include DLC and season passes (in the case of season passes, I'd say 14 days from the launch of the first content included in the season pass).

But, again, this is a great step, it mirror's Steam's policies, and I'm pleased to see Xbox taking this step.

Sony, please take note!
