Slowing Down (Destiny)

Well they already mentioned that if you hit the gate, you speed up, and if you miss it you slow down, maybe there is a heavier slow penalty if you miss to the side that the big pole is on?

The “slow down” is just a byproduct of not hitting the speed boost gate. Missing the gate doesn’t appear to actively cut your speed.

I just rewatchd the video and you indeed slow down if you miss the gate. The instance I watched, he was maxing his vehicle at 130 and as soon as he missed the gate he went to 115.
