Good races tonight! It was great fun.
I expected SRL to be a pretty fun diversion. It is a fun diversion when you're alone, but with a full or mostly full Fireteam, it is far beyond that. I'll be pretty surprised if they don't bring SRL back and expand upon it, because it's amazing.
I think it's actually a great selling point for the new event model they're going for, even more so than Festival of the Lost. It has certainly served its purpose and pulled me back to Destiny.
I'm eager to see what they do next!

Rather than starting a new thread, I'll post a few things up here from my short session this morning.
First up is another photo finish, this time from Mars. I tried to hit the edge of the gate, but just barely missed it activating, which allowed the other guy to catch up and make me miss the last gate entirely. The top five people in the race finished within the same second.
This is just a clip of me getting caught in the fan on Lap 2. I had worked my way back from dead last and way back (I screwed up a backflip on Lap 1 and blew up) to take the lead, only to get screwed by that fan. I managed to work my way back for the win, though!
I am having an absolute blast with SRL. It's stupid fun.

Pfff, that's nothing. I had a time where lag or something caused the fan blades to spin super fast to catch up. They effectively eliminated any path forward. :p

I spent the whole race in last place due to a really awful jump right near the beginning and the smooth driving of the DBOers I was racing with gave me little chance to catch up. On the last lap of the race, the last fan glitched and knocked out everyone but me. They all got stuck for a while and gave me enough of a head start that I managed to come in 2nd. I really should have recorded that one :p

so, has anyone changed how they hold their controllers
during SRL, i started using my middle fingers on the triggers, so that i could have my index fingers on the bumpers at all times.
I've noticed in a lot of SRL videos, that a lot of people aren't using their left/right thrusters. It's much better to be facing forward when going through the gates, than to be at an angle. it reduces the amount of fish-tailing that happens when you get the speed boost.
Yes. I grip it much tighter... It help me go faster. :p

Really, my main change is remembering to click the thumbsticks to strafe. Other than that I don't change much.
