I'm pretty okay at Sparrow racing, but if there's one thing that I've learned, it's that you should never let confidence cloud your focus. In SRL, tiny mistakes quickly add up, and one wrong move can cost you dearly, no matter how far ahead you are.
So when I was racing, and a huge mistake at the Fans of Doom left me in sixth place and a full emblem behind the other racers, the outlook was pretty grim... But I dusted myself off, revved the engine, and started drivin' through on Max...

I am in love with SRL. It's actually a lot more skill based than I anticipated, but there's still enough luck involved to keep it fun for everyone. Anything can happen.

A small tip for everyone that I've noticed on this track:

Right before the very first gate, there's a small ramp. Don't hit that. Instead go around it. You'll have to swerve to hit the gate straight on, but you actually lose some speed in the air, and this tiny little thing has allowed me to get an early lead (or make up some time on the last lap).

Has anyone been able to pull of landing on the Skiff on the Infinite Descent? I've done it a few times, but I don't think it's worth it. If you do it right, it makes lining up for the shortcut much easier, but it's actually pretty difficult to pull off consistently, and involves avoiding the gate at the top of waterfall. Just wondering if anyone has done it and managed to pick up time with it, or if it's just a "cool factor" route.

Yes, I've done it once, WITH hitting the gate (I think), but I was not flying straight and overall it wasn't worth it. It is something I want to be able to do at will, just for the fun of it.

Trying to hit that gate and swing over fast enough and at the right angle is really hard for me. I made it once like that, but wasn't straight on the skiff so I launched off of it into the cliff on the left and tumbled down. It's definitely something I avoid if I'm aiming to win.

You only win if he decides that you may win and stops at the finish line. Enjoy your vacation, Zero while I mop up wins in SRL. Muahahaha ;-)

First PvE, then Crucible, then Trials, now this?! You have to be miserably bad at something. You're making us all look bad here!

You see, the time numbers you see in game are not the raw base numbers they work with. The number shown at a timing event gets scaled by a lot of factors (activity, target, are you facing towards Mecca, etc.) and then displayed to the player post game as rounded numbers with a clean UI presentation. A small adjustment to an sparrow may not be enough to change the displayed number, but (THIS IS A HYPOTHETICAL EXAMPLE) if your base time changed from 20 to 20.004, and then you achieved that time value every other game (at 30 games per day) over the duration of the entire three week event, you're actually getting a change in overall time spent even though the base number still reports as 20 in the UI.

Oh wow, I only just realized there is a motion tracker that tracks the other racers. How have I played 10+ games and never noticed that?
