I think the shortcuts need a gate. Either on the shortcuts or aligned with the exits. There's just not quite enough incentive for me right now...

The Venus one is totally worth it, IMO. The Mars shortcut saves less time, and you miss 2 gates if you follow the fastest line, which can be harmful.
