Good Day All!

So I've been tidying up the computer I have been using for the past three years and have come across one of the things I was going to post in my Mega Post, but was cut because ... I don't remember but it was a good reason. I'm not sure if what I'm about to post is very balanced, though I recall I did try as I was making it, I didn't let it hold me back (oh geez). I just wanted to get ideas on to the page. The ideas I found the most interesting I kept.

So for the set up - It's right after Destiny the Taken King has been revealed. Talk of new Supers are swimming around the forums. It was during this time I found my self asking...

What would a Kinetic Class/Super look like?

So to start - I had to figure out was would make this class unique from everything else. Why would a player want to switch to this class? Pros & Cons ... so on. I came to the conclusion that the Kinetic class would be essentially a super enhanced version of each class. Less about damage output and more about taking damage and playing with your food. You think Hunters are fast now? Just wait when you don't see them. Titans are tough now? Just wait till you... oh.. hey.. where did you go? You think Warlocks are disciplined now? Just wait till they realize damage is just particle maths being imposed upon their coil and if they change the maths of said coil they can heal at greater degree in spacetime!

Each slot has a very brief description of my idea.

So without further adue, I present my imaginings and ideas of said topic. Click to greatly embiggen!

WisdomWaker - The point of this was what happens if the core ideas of a Warlock were enhanced. As such, I figured the warlock would be able to gather more data from the world around them and do the opposite at any foe they wished. Of all the ideas I had, these were the most ambiguous. So much testing would be needed to balance this properly (though I suppose that's true for all of them isn't it?)

SkillBreaker - The point of this was what happens if the core ideas of a Hunter were enhanced. As such, I figured the hunter would be fast. Really fast. Move fast. Shoot fast. Dodge, duck, dip, dive (with flair because Hunters) fast. TL;DR? You are a ninja spider monkey with a cape and a gun.

Protector
- The point of this was what happens if the core ideas of a Titan were enhanced. As such, I figured the Titan would essentially become a Juggernaut. A freight train. The Hulk in an actually bad mood. TL;DR - A Pain Train. I swear, when I made Ground Pound slot I didn't even know Halo 5 had any thing new with its fancy spartan abilities.

So there you have it. I don't know if any of these are doable (though I did try to consider that), I do think some of these ideas are at the very lest interesting. Look forward to hearing seeing what you all think! I'll clarify as need be when I can, if I can. :D

At this point - If I can find the fan fiction I was writing down, I'll finish it and post that too.

I personally would have a blast playing all of these, I love the different ideas you put into them. I agree too, you'd have a bear of a time balancing the actual values so that these classes don't turn into the "why would you play anything else" type of thing. I especially like the Titan "no jump" node; that's got a good risk/reward balance to it. I also like the Hunter "wall stick" perk, for its exploration potential, but that would probably just make people frustrated with the maps because they'd be the ones running into more stupid invisible walls!

I love the possibilities for combat, but it would make a lot of Destiny's environments impossible to navigate. If the game had been built in anticipation of that from the beginning, it might work.

I also like the Hunter "wall stick" perk, for its exploration potential, but that would probably just make people frustrated with the maps because they'd be the ones running into more stupid invisible walls!

There's also the potential for lots of out-of-map exploits. Fun in PvE, annoying in PvP.
