Solo Trials. Holy crap. (Destiny)
Just... Wow.

Solo Trials. Holy crap.
Saw this the other day. Holy Crap that guy can play (also, the others sucked horribly)
But yeah, that was pretty impressive overall. I definitely picked up some play style pointers from that guy

Partial unzoom
Interesting how he just barely releases his zoom on the sniper rifle to pop his motion tracker. That seems to allow him to emulate third eye pretty well.

Partial unzoom
It works great to prevent getting flanked while sniping.

Haven't leveled my nightstalker...
Is shadestep infinite?

Yes infinite, just have to wait for end of animation

No?
pretty sure there's a cooldown, just like blink. you get two back to back and then cool down.

Never noticed one.
But it's pretty rare you need to do it more than twice in a row so it's possible that's why. It doesn't help you move faster so you don't feel the need to do it as often as you do blink.

I had no idea that shadestep was usable that often...!

Never noticed one.
I was thinking it was kind of similar to the sprint behavior. Sometimes you click to restart sprint and it just doesn't work when it should. At least that's how it feels to me.

Never noticed one.
That's actually one of my very few complaints about Destiny's basic controls - that there's no way to read the sprint cooldown. I mean, there clearly IS a cooldown period, but I've never understood the logic it follows. What I mean is, the amount of time it takes before I can sprint again isn't always the same. Sometimes I can go immediately, other times it's a good 1-1.5 seconds. Is it based on how long I was sprinting? How much time has passed since the last time I started a sprint? Is it entirely random? I have no idea, and with no visual indication I just have to sit there clicking the stick until it works.

Never noticed one.
Pretty much. Also, the cooldown is very brief. I don't think I've ever actually run into it when I wasn't intentionally spamming shadestep as a test.

Never noticed one.
when screwing around waiting for supers to build in the raid I would spam shade step just to have fun. I think after the second step, I would t-bag 2-3 times then shade step again. geussing it's like a 1 second cooldown. just enough to not let you shade step infinitely.

I can't even...
...fathom how he did that. Granted, I can't believe the team attacked him as they did. It's like they made no adjustments to strategy.
I'm curious how well he would have done from the other spawn. What would he have done differently.

This is correct. There is a cooldown after 2.
It's pretty short though. 4 seconds? Also, this guy is making great use of the shadestep cancel. I expect that to be patched.

He's doing a few tricky things to make it better.
First, he's using shadestep to get off of any and all elevated platforms. Then he's using a shadestep cancel (bring out your ghost and then sprint or jump) to get his gun up sooner and allow new motion before the animation changes. Then he's doing a combo of jump to sprint to slide to shadestep again. Basically he's never just running, and that makes him both faster and harder to hit.
Also his sense of when an engagement is no longer advantageous is amazing. At least 10 times he runs when I'd have stayed and traded or lost the fight. Un. Real.

I was actually rooting for the poor saps on the other team about halfway through. After the first two ass beatings, I would have played it safe and made him either come for us, or go into overtime.
I was amazed that after they won the overtime round, that they didn't try to force that every time after. Wait him out and build up your supers. Teamshot him on overtime, use supers if necessary.
