I wonder... (Destiny)

Hide in the sheltered entrance where you first come in to the final room. You're probably already doing this, but just in case.

Don't worry about killing a lot of adds at first, just enough to clear a space (if needed) to shoot at the main boss. Then once he's dead, worry about other stuff. This will depend on your own comfort level and character, as well as how clear of a shot you have at him.

Load up on Solar damage, since the Captains are the biggest problem. And try to kill them first, even above the blights. Meaning if there's a Captain and a blight in the same spot, kill the Captain and THEN the blight. It'll be quicker in the long run without him screwing up your vision.

Take out as many blights as possible, of course.

I think fusion rifles are the best non-heavy weapon for taking out blights in this room. Snipers take too long and you won't survive trying it with a shotgun. Fusion rifles are nearly as fast as a shotgun and work from a distance - blights are such big targets that you can land all the projectiles pretty easily.

Try to have a Nightstalker tether the main boss. If you have anything that's particularly good at dealing big damage to a single target, like Sleeper Simulant or high-impact snipers, try to use those on him when the tether's active.

Having a Defender to set up a bubble in the room you're probably hiding in is helpful. Try blessing of light so you can dip into it to restore shields.

Use your best long-range primary. Stepping out of that room is suicide so you need to be able to tag things from a distance.

The updated Dragon's Breath is really good here IMO. Shoot it at the base of a blight when adds spawn in, it'll eat the adds and the blight all at once, and it's the right damage type for those damned Captains.

Haven't tried this, and it might be foolish with all the junk in the room... but what about a Defender Titan with a Blessing bubble and Touch of Malice? That seems like it might rip through a lot of stuff really fast, as long as you remembered to dip in regularly (sort of like Oryx Challenge Mode).
