I need some Gun Advice for Iron Banner (Destiny)

Hey folks, I barely play PVP but I want to do some Iron Banner this week.
I currently have enough stuff to upgrade a gun to 310. I like Pulse Rifles or Assault Rifles the best. (I know. I'm sorry.) Which one from my inventory would you recommend?

I'd go with The Last Word, personally.
Of the gun types you like, I'd probably do Herja-D since it has counterbalance and I hate recoils that aren't straight up. But it's just a personal preference.
What you should be looking for is max stability, pretty much.

Your Suros PDX on your Warlock. You have a good bonus (Zen moment). I can't see the other one. But it's a great pulse.

This is my first instinct as well, but I like pulse rifles. Does this have any other stability perks? Braced frame or perfect balance will tighten up the bullet spread of each burst. I see you have a Spare Change too; I used this quite a lot but it seems the higher impact/lower rate of fire archetype was hit hardest by most recent pulse nerf - the time to kill isn't any better than the Hawksaw/PDX archetype now (and it requires a stability perk).

The Suros or Herja are probably equally good here, depending on your style.

As pulse rifles go, this would be my choice. Hammer forged helps the range issue and hand laid stock brings the stability up (and zen moment will bring it up further after your first burst).
The Herja could be a good choice too, but it has a lower aim assist and a very slightly higher time to kill.
You may want to fire them both at a wall and compare the recoil patterns; you may prefer one over another.

That suros PDX-45 is amazing. Run it with SPO 28 / Hammer Forged / Zen Moment / Hand Laid Stock and watch the kills tick up. UN. REAL. If you run Hawksaw, I like the roll on your one in the vault more than the one you list here.

I have two different rolls I can't decide between. I've been running roll two more since I like headseeker on a pulse rifle. At range, neither of them compete with my vendor roll Nirwin's Mercy though.
Roll One: (15 Range, 96 Stability)
Fitted Stock
Counter Balance
Injection Molded
Roll Two: (34 Range, 92 Stability)
Fitted Stock
Headseeker
Smallbore

I like roll 2 as well. Much longer range dropoff plus bonus headshot damage. What's not to like?
Seriously it doesn't beat NM? I've heard the faster firing pulse archetype is the strongest in the game for primaries these days.

I played with both rolls tonight along with my nerwin's to double check things. Roll 2 is definitely the way to go on the PDX-45. the problem I'm running into with it is the range and the rate of fire. I seem to burn through ammo faster and not always get the kill. It could be that I'm just more comfortable with the slightly slower rate of fire for nerwins with my trigger pulling?
Where I see things falling into place for me.
Small to Medium maps = PDX-45 (or TLW)
Medium to Long = Nerwin's Mercy
Medium Long to "why is this map still in the game" = MIDA or other Scout Rifle.

My vote would go to the Hung Jury. Not only is it a fantastic (and underrated) PvP gun, but it's one of the best PvE primaries in year 2 as well, so bumping it up to 310 would be extra useful.
Aside from that, your 310 Zhalo Supercell will be fantastic in Iron Banner.

What perks do you use on Zhalo to make it a viable PvP gun? I've tried it, but was never impressed with the weapon for PvP.

Spec it out for max stability. If you can get the hang of hitting consistent headshots it has an extremely fast time to kill.

I would have said Paleocontact

But your roll isn't great. Maybe the Righteous VII?

Is Righteous VII well regarded? I don't usually use auto rifles, but I had one of these drop with perfect balance, rifled barrel and rodeo last night.

I'm not a huge autorifle guy in general but have all three of these. They share the same archetype. 88 RoF, 8 Impact and then the rest of the stats vary.
Paleocontact (Dead Orbit)
Haakon's Hatchet (Iron Banner)
Righteous VII (New Monarchy)
The vendor Righteous VII is a really solid gun with perfect balance, rifled barrel and glass half full. I have it equipped on my hunter currently
Red Spectre seems to be an awesome looking autorifle by the stats. It's a crucible reward drop but has the 88 Rof and 24 impact instead of 8. If you could get this with a stability perk and a range perk then that would be a beast.
Out of the ones I have, the Righteous VII is probably my favorite so far. The vendor version is nearly perfect with the added range and stability and glass half full.
I had two drop last night that I want to try out also. I got another Righteous VII with high Caliber Rounds, Rifled Barrel and Rodeo. I also had a Dealbreaker drop with Glass Half Full, Crowd Control and Rifled Barrel/Hand Loaded/High Caliber Rounds.

Thanks, I'll have to give that Righteous VII a try this week!

This does sound pretty great (not that I've gotten more than one crucible drop in year 2). It seems similar to the Suros ARI-45 (77 Rof and 28 impact). I picked up a gunsmith roll that I've never fired (Perfect Balance, Hand Laid Stock, Glass Half Full); I guess I need to choose between that and the Righteous :).

Heh - the only one I've had drop has competing perks (I can use one or the other, but not both): Hip Fire and Third Eye. :)
(No stability perk options, and the only range perk option (reinforced barrel) comes at a penalty to stability.)
Ah, well. :)

Nice roll

That gun will be a beast once it's fully upgraded. The high rate of fire autorifles are really good after they rebalanced the weapons when TTK came out. If you have one that has really good stability they can have a very fast time to kill because you can get a good number of headshots quickly.
Thanks everyone

Here's what I did:
- Suros PDX-45 to 309
- Hung Jury to 297
- Herja-D to 297
- Righteous VII to 295
I used the PDX in a few Iron Banner games and it handled really well. I was consistently getting 4 shot kills and it was super stable.
The night before, I ran around the dreadnought and shot all my ARs. I really liked the Righteous VII. It didn't have the best stats but I liked it in action more than any of the other ones.
