What would happen if Factions got in on Arms Day? (Destiny)

As much as I like the idea of constant vendor stock, a rock in a sea of uncertainty, what would happen if the factions had their own arms day? Each week offering one or two items that you could purchase and wait a week for and get 1-3 differently rolled options?

Would this be a good compromise between reforging and total randomness?

It still doesn't solve the problem that there a are a number of weapons I want to try but never do because they are all 280 light and I'm pushing 311-16 on all my characters, but I would like a way to get a more custom weapon to my personal preferences, instead of waiting on random optimum roll drops.

It would certainly be interesting, though I personally feel like many of the faction weapons already have nearly ideal rolls.

I feel the same way on this. The Hung Jury from DO, Righteous VII from NM, The Villainy from FWC are all insane rolls for their gun types.

It would be cool to have a gamble weapon order that you give them 2500 glimmer for and you get a random weapon. Have this option once a week. No choice, just pure trust in your chosen faction to give you a weapon to fit your needs. If nothing else, you'll get 3 legendary marks and some weapon mats out of the deal.

I think its a great idea.

I personally miss reforging. It seems, to me, they took it away to keep people playing. You used to just have to get the gun, then you could reforge your motes off, and get the roll you wanted. Now you get a bad roll, sucks for you! This is especially irritating for guns like Grasp of Malok. At one point, a good roll on it was comparable to the messenger in year 1, except now you cannot just get one and reroll. You have to get 1 (hard drop to get in the first place) then you have to hope its the right roll. This somewhat ties into your statement about not trying guns. Yes you have to worry about light level, but now you also have to worry about the roll too. Light level is something fairly easily fixed, but bad rolls are not. I have seen many aesthetically pleasing guns, good stats, but got bad rolls. End Result, shard or infuse.

Scrap the garbage test weapons and repurpose Gunsmith to serve as vendor for limited-weapon playlist, let's call it Bungle Pro.

Admission into the Bungle Pro playlist requires you to purchase a Pass from the Gunsmith for either Hakke, Omolon, or Suros. Like the Trials Passage item, you can go into this Pass from the menu and select a primary, secondary, and heavy weapon.

There would be an extremely limited selection of weapons; out of the 10 potential weapon types, each manufacturer would only offer, say, 7/10; not every manufacturer might have a hand cannon, for example. This way, each manufacturer would be balanced to have different advantages and disadvantages. Maybe one manufacturer has a super awesome shotgun, but doesn't have a sniper, or has an okay sniper.

These selections override your character's standard weapon selection when playing in the Bungle Pro playlist.

Perhaps as a way to keep an even distribution of players/teams with each weapon set:

The game can keep track of how many of each manufacturer's passes have been sold. Choosing a manufacture with a lower pledge % will add an proportionately scaled "rep bonus". So if everyone's picking Omolon because of that sweet scout-rifle roll that's available that week, you could go with one of the other two and be rewarded for it.

Or Bungie could just balance their game, but we're talking about Destiny soo.. :)

I'm not referring to an inventory that changes week to week, but rather is fixed and tweaked over time.
