16 months ago I did this and never topped it (Destiny)
Blind Watch control game, maybe Iron Banner. Two guys lined up and whammy got em both. I have the perk on the rifle (The Supremacy) for over penetrating surfaces, does that include faces? Honestly, would it have not worked without the perk?
I stopped playing destiny right after TTK, sadly i never even finished Oryx. (Sad for how many times I beat Atheon) I also have stopped lurking here. This video popped up and I realized I never shared it.

First of all, awesome shot!
To your question, that would have worked with any sniper rifle. The perk for over penetrating surfaces makes your bullets go through certain pieces of hard cover, but all snipers will penetrate a guardian and hit another target behind them.
I posted this clip a couple days ago. Not as impressive as yours (your targets were on the move!) but it shows how you technically can do it with any sniper rifle:
